Working With Real Estate Agents
When you start working with an agent, did they give this document to you?
If so, do you understand it?
Here is a brief overview of what the different sections are:
Sellers agent - We work for the seller. We use our knowledge to help out the seller. We do not work for the buyer. Most onsite agents in new construction fall under this.
Buyers agent - We work for the buyer. We are here to protect your interests. This is really good in new construction.
Sellers Sub Agent - This is an agent that doesn't work for you, and doesn't really work for the seller, but they are willing to have them help sell their property. They are not an advocate for a buyer.
Dual Agency - This is working both sides of the transaction. Buyer and Seller are clients. It's hard to work fully represent each in this case.
Designated Dual Agency - Your agent (or the designated agent) is your representation and can fully help you in your transaction. The other side is another agent in the same firm.
